CMI welcomed Turkish MPs and Ministry of Justice officials to London this week, for high level meetings with their British counter-parts, and further detailed discussions on the introduction of mediation into the Turkish legal system.
The visit is the latest stage of CMI's ongoing role as mediation adviser to the Turkish Ministry of Justice, and will give the visiting delegation a detailed insight into the UK's approach to mediation. It will be followed up over the next six months by numerous events in London and Ankara, including in-depth training for Ministry officials, extensive work on preparing legislation, and training programmes for judges, lawyers and others.
