This week saw the long-awaited International Mediation Symposium in Ankara, on 5th and 6th November. The event, organised by CMI in partnership with the Turkish Ministry of Justice and the British Embassy in Ankara, brought together key Turkish and international mediation figures to discuss the proposed Turkish mediation reforms, showcase progress to date, and learn from a wide range of international examples in the field.
Turkish Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin and the Slovenian Minister of Justice Ales Zalar were keynote speakers at the event. Other speakers were drawn from Turkey, UK, Netherlands, Russia, Pakistan, and the EU Delegation to Turkey.
There were 150 participants from the Ministry of Justice, judges, bar associations, notaries, Chambers of Commerce and other business groups, representatives of foreign missions, international institutions and non governmental organisations.
